Emergency Legal Fund

Hi everyone! On 11/23 my partner was forced into a plea deal that left them responsible for paying for everything that happened during a protest of approximately 300 people; almost $50,000 is owed to the state. After nearly 18 months of unemployment due to pending charges flagging background checks, they were forced to take out a private loan for the cost of living. Now we are paying back that loan as well as our monthly bills for rent and electricity and credit cards. $40k is nearly three times what I make in a year. My partner and I just moved into a new housing situation, and they're employed; however, we are worried about them losing their job due to the felony conviction. The sooner we can significantly impact the total remaining, the sooner they will be able to ask for their felony to be reduced to a misdemeanor. Any donation would seriously help us right now.
